The Hart Bridge presents a dramatic contrast of a bold green arch against the vibrant colors of an early evening sky. I couldn’t help but try to capture the beauty of these glistening hues. The Hart Bridge is an exceptionally long steel truss cantilever bridge that spans the St. Johns River. Named after Isaiah David Hart, Jacksonville’s founder, but often referred to as the Green Monster since it’s the final stretch of the annual Gate River Run, the largest 15K race in the country. As you drive across the bridge into downtown you can smell the intoxicating aroma of coffee roasting in the original Maxwell House coffee plant.
