The three women – (left to right) Our Lady of Guadalupe—Patroness of Mexico, La Virgen de Soledad—Patron Saint of Oaxaca, and Frida Kahlo—20th Century Mexican artist, were included in a mural I painted in Oaxaca, Mexico. When I returned to my studio I depicted the women in a large drawing. This drawing became part of an installation I created for a “Day of The Dead” celebration at the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art (JMOCA).
